Network Marketing – Are You Looking For That Silver Bullet?

network marketing

Has your network marketing buddy told you he has a Silver Bullet?

You should come join my team, we’re going to make a million bucks and you won’t have to do anything!  Hmm, I’m not really sure where it all got started but, somewhere along the line the myth of, “just sign up two people and it will build itself” was born.  Thats like me telling you to just fill up your tank once and it will run forever, you will never have to buy gasoline again!

Well, I hate to break it to you…

There AIN’T no SILVER BULLET to Network Marketing. Period, end of story!

So… If you’re talking to a prospect and that is what they are looking for, jump on your horse and head out of town as fast as you can.  The last thing you need on your network marketing team when trying to build your business is someone you’ll have to baby sit. Don’t get me wrong, as a leader its your DUTY to help them build their business. Helping others will ultimately  help grow your network marketing business and at the same time, you will possibly make some lifelong friendships in the process.  People looking for that “Silver Bullet” will never last,  just get frustrated and eventually quit a few months down the road.

You should be looking for quality people, business owners and other MLM entrepreneurs are your best bet.  These people know what it takes to own and run a business. Often times the worker bee who has spent their whole life working for someone else, you know the 9 to 5’er really has no idea what it takes to be successful in a network marketing business. A lot of people don’t have the drive or motivation to own a business, they would rather not bring their work home with them.  I’m not saying that there is anything wrong with this type person, because you will find some people willing to take the world by storm and sponsor tons of people.  You will just be more successful recruiting and working with like minded individuals.

There is NO ONE thing that is going to set your network marketing business on fire, other than following a few simple steps.

If you haven’t read my post titled, 7 Things Homer Simpson Says Are A Must To Starting Your MLM Business, you may want to take a look at it.

Network marketing takes work, and anyone that tells you it doesn’t is lying to you. Sure there are systems in place that can make life easier and more productive.  I highly recommend several and will have a section dedicated to just that.  But this is no different than any other business, it takes work, dedication and commitment.  Not a Silver Bullet, leave that to the Lone Ranger!

Thanks for taking the time!

  • Richard Petrillo 07/29/2010,

    Thank you Kathy!
You bring up such a great point… Does it exist anywhere else but in Network Marketing? If it does, I don’t know where that would be.

Very Proud to be here as well.
    Thanks again,

  • Kathy G 07/29/2010,

    Yet another great post!
I didn’t understand the paradigm of network marketing when I first entered the industry, but I have since come to learn how empowering this business model is. I wish I knew about it when I was young, yet I am grateful that I understand it now. It is simple AND it requires work! Simple work….does that exist anywhere else? Funny thing is, in network marketing that ‘simple work’ leads people to earn millions. Again, I ask….does that exist anywhere else? In network marketing it is all about helping the people in your organization succeed. The more they succeed they more you will, so the win-win piece in this is both personally rewarding and financially rewarding.

Ahhhhhhhhh, to be a network marketer…..very proud here.
