Creating An Opt-In Form & Auto-Responders For Your Home Based Business – Video

Auto Responders are key to building your list
!

How many times have you heard…
“The Money Is In The List”? As true a statement as that is, how do you effectively manage everyone on your list?  Sure, you may just be starting off and only have a list of 10 people, but what about down the road when you have hundreds, even thousands of subscribers… How are you going to communicate with them all effectively? Enter Aweber or Get Response.

Aweber and Get Response are Email Mail Marketing Systems, designed to boost your websites traffic and convert more sales. I’ve have chosen to go with Aweber because I feel that it is a bit more robust and user friendly.

The various Opt-In Forms that are available with Aweber provide you with multiple choices to pick from.

As you can see to the right, I’ve chosen to use a strong color like red for my Opt-In Forms.  Studies show that red preforms best with Opt-Ins, but you can make several different forms in Aweber and split test them to see what gives you the best Opt-In rate.

Auto-Responders are a series of email messages that you can create inside your Aweber account.  They can be scheduled to go out at different times and days of your choice.

Your first email may go out as soon as someone signs up through your Opt-In form.

This could be your thank-you email, or if you have an offer listed on your Opt-In form, this first email can deliver that as well. The auto-responder set up is less confusing so I put together this short video to show you just how easy it is to create an Opt-In form for your website.  I hope you enjoy it!

So where do I put the code for the floating Opt-In Form on my site?  Most Themes have a “Custom MultiMedia Box’ in the design section of the site.  Every theme is different but here is how mine looks.

  • Lynn Brown ,

Really great information Richard. Your videos are very helpful. I personally have been using iContact for more than 4 years now. I personally like their autoresponder capabilities, but I really like AWebers optin form feature. Will have to check that out.

Thanks again for sharing this info and I will be sure to share with my friends, fan, followers and clients.

Wow, thanks so much. I can’t believe how easy is to make the opt-in form floating! I’ve been looking at techy sites with lots of HTML code but you solved my problem in seconds. Will follow you on Twitter.

  • Hey Kevin,
Thanks for the suggestion. It does make sense to have the floating or static forms in more than one place.

  • Kevin ,

Thanks for the video Richard. One thing to keep in mind is where you put the floating forms too. Put the forms in places where you better know where customers are and what they’re interested in in terms of their buying cycles. http://bit.ly/glywDq

  • Hi Becky,
I have heard from several people that Aweber is easier and has more to offer than Get Response. I’ve only used Aweber so I can’t give a good review of both.
Yes you can make a form for your post pages. It is just a matter of creating that form and plugging in the code on your sites page.

Aweber also makes it really simple to create a floating Opt-In box which I am now using on my site. I will be adding an update to this video to show how simple it is to produce.
Any questions feel free to contact me.
    Thanks Becky,
    Richard

  • Becky Johnson ,

    Hi Richard,
Thanks for this great video. I think I need to change from Get Response to Aweber just for this. Can you also put a form in a post?

  • Hey Nat,

Thanks for the kind words. Aweber does make it simple and your web forms look great! I was trying to keep the video short and to the point but perhaps a follow up in more detail is in order.

    Great to hear from you!

  • Nat ,

    Hey Richard

I use Aweber and I love it. I was using Get Response for a long time but someone mentioned to try Aweber now I am totally converted!

I actually customise my web forms a little more than what you illustrate but you did a great job demonstrating all the templates that you have available to you in Aweber and how easy it can be to set up your own web form!
    cheers
