How to Create DoFollow Backlinks From Google Plus!

DoFollow Backlinks from Google Plus

DoFollow backlinks from Google Plus can be a powerful way to help rank any of your blog post articles.

In this video I will not only show you how to create free Do Follow backlinks from Google Plus, but also a cool little Firefox add-on that shows exactly what hyperlinks on any webpage are NoFollow or DoFollow.

With all the changes Google has been making the last few years, creating high authority backlinks are more important today than ever.

The Penguin and Panda updates have made us all very aware of a few things.

1. Content is King! (always has been)

2. Social Networks and The Social Vote play a big role in how Google views and ranks our website.  You can read about the social vote in an article here!

Creating DoFollow backlinks from Google Plus takes just a few minutes to set up and you will be surprised how simple the process is.

Just log onto your Google Plus account and under the “About” tab you will find a “links” setting. The video explains exactly each step to take.

One word of caution…

Don’t abuse this technique. It’s easy to get carried away and want to list every blog post you’ve ever written. I suggest taking your most difficult to rank, keyword rich post, (no more than 10) and implement this strategy.

I would like to thank Mike Hobbs for always providing such great content and trainings, he is a true leader in our industry and is responsible for this post!

Hi Jenny,

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Google Plus is and has become a very powerful tool. Especially Google Hangouts, but that is for another post.
The short answer to your question is no… Google+ can be looked at like Twitter in the respect you can add someone into your circle, but they don’t have to add you back. If you choose to make a status update public, anyone who has put you into a circle will be able to view it.

I found a great article on Google + you might be interested in: http://computer.howstuffworks.com/internet/social-networking/networks/google-plus.htm
I hope this helps!

PS: I checked out your article on backlink commando, good stuff! With your knowledge on back linking I’m curious as to why you are not using CommentLuv?

Hi Richard,
Great post. Its good that you have touched on google plus which is a very undersestimated and under used source of traffic. I wanted to ask because I don’t fullt understand it fully yet but..if I added someone into my circles and they have a large following, does any comment I share with them get distributed amongst their followers? If this is the case, then there is a huge potential of traffic.

thanks Richard

Hey RapidRoaR

Yes there are plenty of ways to increase link juice. Organic backlinks are best! Creating quality content that people are sharing and commenting on are what Google is looking for these days. I did an article on the “Social Vote” you may be interested in. Search for that keyword and it should come right up.
Thanks for leaving a comment!

Hey Thanks Adolfo,
No such thing as a stupid question. You can place a link back to any website or blog post from your Google+ profile. The key is to title your link with the keyword you are trying to rank for on the post.

If you are just trying to link to the main page of your website, then use the keyword or keywords that are used in your SEO tile and description of the site.

I hope this helps…

Hi Richard
Great article! but I am a little bit confused… these backlinks can go straight to any website or they have to be pointed only at a google plus page?
sorry if my question seems stupid, I’m just new to this

You’re welcome! Thanks for leaving a comment. I agree with you, Firefox does make it a bit simpler. I just finished another post you may be interested in on how to get a .EDU backlink. Let me know what you think and if you’ve heard of this strategy.

Hi Richard.

Thanks for the DoFollow extension tip, hadn’t heard of that one before.

I’ve been using Chrome, right clicking and selecting Inspect Element to detect DoFollow links but may turn to Firefox when searching for DoFollow blogs to comment on as that seems much easier.

Hi Adrienne,

It’s a darn good day when I can help teach you something! :) Ya know, I have SEO Quake too but didn’t realize it would show “DO and NoFollow” links. I guess I always just use it for the toolbar at top of the browser to check PR and Alexa Rank. I’ll have to look into that.

I feel the same way, I have far too many posts I’d like a backlink to! Guess we really need to be choosy on this one!

Thanks for stopping by!

Well I learned something new today Richard. Not about the extension, I use SEOQuake for the links, but for adding one to Google+. I might be screwed there because boy do I have a lot of links I’ve love to do that for but I get what you’re saying. Tread lightly with that little gem. Will do my friend, will do.

Thanks for the tips though and walking us through what to do. That helped.
